[1GMO] Close These Apps: DIM the online noise 🤫

Published 2 months ago • 2 min read

Hey Reader,

Hello, it’s me, I’m backkkkkk. And in way better spirits!

Last year I took a hiatus from my email list. And if I’m going to be honest, I took one from a lot of parts of my business. Why? Because I had TOO much noise in my head. Whenever that happens, I do what I know best – NOTHING.

Anyways, read this to the end cool? Cool.

As you can tell by the title, I’m gonna share lessons I’ve learned from paying way too much attention to the online space. And cuz we’re cool, I also share actions I took to overcome it all.

Ever feel like you're constantly chasing the next big thing online? New strategies, hype trends, and everyone's "secret sauce" (there’s none btw 🙄) popping up all over your feed? We've all been there. But lemme tell you, that online noise can be a MAJOR distraction, and before you know it, your own goals get lost in the shuffle. Cue the ‘setting goals based on what’s popular era.

But Chev, how do you know I can’t ignore what I see?Because when you spend enough time in any environment you start to adapt the ways and thoughts of those in it. So you can’t ignore it.

Here's what I've learned:

Lesson 1:

That noise is just that – noise. It pulls your focus away from what truly matters: your own goals.

Lesson 2:

Every time you get sidetracked, it's like hitting the reset button on your progress.

Lesson 3:

Most of the online "experts" are just good at highlighting other people's flaws, not necessarily experts themselves. They’re loud, but they ain't necessarily knowledgeable. They hide behind ‘being real’.

Lesson 4:

Your goals should be based on your life, your values, and your vision. Don't get caught up trying to replicate someone else's journey. ‍Sounds cliche, but it’s true.

Lesson 5:

Build your confidence and hone your expertise. That's the real key to unlocking your potential.

So, how do we drown out the noise and focus on what matters? Here are some actionable steps I took (and still take) to stay on track:

🧡 Silence those notifications! Out of sight, out of mind, right?

🧡 Limit your online consumption. Set boundaries and stick to them! Remember, you're not missing out, you're opting in to focus.

🧡 Set data-driven goals instead of chasing trends. Numbers don't lie, and they'll keep you laser-focused.

🧡 Invest in personal development – courses, workshops, mentors – anything that helps you sharpen your skills and expertise.

🧡 Burn it down! (figuratively ok? 😂). Get rid of anything (habits, things, people, even social media accounts) that distract you from your goals and personal growth.

Remember girlie, you are the captain of your own ship. Don't let the online waves toss you around. Focus on your unique journey, and tune out the noise that holds you back.

Special Announcement

Now, I’ve got a new series coming that talks about the steps you need to take to build your business in a way that suits YOU. I’m fine-tuning the details and you’ll be the first to know cool? Cool.
